ANIKAI Artistic Director Wendy Jehlen is one of six Boston-area artists sellected this year to receive a Brother Thomas Fellowship from The Boston Foundation.

ANIKAI received a commission from the Ammerman Center for Arts and Technology at Connecticut College to create a new work for their biennial symposium March 3-5. 2012. The project will be the first ten minutes of a what will be a one-hour multi-media solo performance on the character of Lilith, the first woman, as imagined and re-imagined throughout history. Jehlen will be collaborating with light architect Zhe Huang and animation artist Zhiyuan Jin to create the full work over the next year.

ANIKAI will be presenting an excerpt of He Who burns during the Association of Performing Arts Presenters conference in NYC as part of the Jodi Kaplan/Booking Dance Showcases!  The showcases are open to all - come!

In January, we will be premiering a new evening-length duet titled "The Knocking Within," at the Times Square International Theater Festival.  "The Knocking Within" draws on Shakespeare's Hamlet, Macbeth, Othello and Titus Andronicus to create a portrait of a dysfunctional relationship, plagued by mental instability.  Or two sleeping lovers' nightmares... rehearsal video and photos coming soon...
